1) Regarding powers that conflict with one another: : (paraphrased) How do you handle conflicting powers? Our powers all have "do not use with XXX"s written on them where necssary. This does not only mean that the powers can not belong to the same player: it means they should not be allowed in the same game together at the same time. Only one of the two conflicting powers has the "do not use with OTHER" on it. At the beginning of the game, that is the one that goes (the player gets a new random one to choose from and can take the new one or one of the one(s) he was going to throw away). However, if that one is already in the game, then it makes it so that the OTHER can't come in Later (a new random one would be chosen). This is simple and also makes the "do not use with" lists shorter :) Regarding a secret power conflicting with a revealed power, here is what we do: you can wait as long as you want to reveal your secret power and maybe by the time you do the conflicting power will be gone for some reason (in our game there are Many ways for this to happen) in which case there is no problem. You can also reveal a scret power which conflicts with an existing power while that power is still in the game - if you do your secret power is replaced immediately by a randomly drawn power - this new power is visible, though. 2) Regarding Hazards and the Praw : > We have two expansions, the Praw (Eon) and Hazards (Matt's idea) which : >we only use if we have a power in the game that calls for them. : Are all the Hazard powers considered start-up powers like Schizoid, i.e. : they can't be used as secret powers? Well, yes, basically this is correct. Since taking a Hazard power brings Hazards into the game, effectively all of them have a start-up effect and couldn't be secret. However, if for some reason you already knew Hazards were going to be in the game (not via another power since chosen simultaneously - really I don't think this would ever happen with us but perhaps we could have chosen in advance to play with Hazarads?), then you could keep it secret if it didn't have some other start of game condition. The same would be true for the Praw powers. Ahh! I thought of a case where the above wierd case would be possible. If you had TWO Hazard powers, you could keep one revealed and one secret! :) Aaron aarondf@bu.edu
