From dugan@caedmon.bu.edu Mon Mar 27 14:34:43 2000 Subject: SCF software upgrade and downtime: Tues., Apr. 4, 10:00am - 11:00am On Tuesday, April 4, beginning at 10:00am, the six SCF machines (LEGO, TONKA, TINKER, SLINKY, PLAYDOH, and JACKS) will be down for one hour to install new system software. Major Changes: o Operating System: IRIX-6.5.5m -> IRIX-6.5.7m o Compilers: 7.3 -> 7.3.1.1m o MPT (MPI and PVM): 1.3 -> 1.4 o Netscape: 4.05 -> 4.7A If your environment is setup to use modules you can use the new compilers now by using the command: ~> module load MIPSpro.7.3.1.1m or the new mpt with the command: ~> module load mpt.1.4 After the upgrade, you can use the current compilers with the command: ~> module load MIPSpro.7.3 or the current mpt with the command: ~> module load mpt.1.3 For information on how to setup and use modules see: http://scv.bu.edu/SCV/FAQ/modules.txt.
