Subject: SCF downtime: August 28, 10:00am - 1:00pm
On Tuesday, Aug. 28, all SCF systems (Twister, et al, the Linux
Cluster, and the Blue Gene) will be down for a 3 hour maintenance
beginning at 10:00am.
During this time, we will update system software on the IBM/AIX/pSeries
machines and the BlueGene frontend nodes (lee and levi.)
There are no new features provided in this update -- just bug fixes.
In fact we don't expect users to notice any changes except that a
bug in the IBM C++ compiler involving the use of templates and varible
length arrays has been fixed.
Although the Linux Cluster will be unavailable during the beginning
of the maintenance, it will not be updated.
